Sherlock Holmes is probably Shane Ritchie’s best movie so far (apart from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).
Robert Downey Jr (Sherlock Holmes) and Jude Law (Dr Watson) bring life to characters that have usually been portrayed as obviously intellectual, but ultimately a little bit boring and staid. In this version the pair are rather more swashbuckling and engage in fist fights, gun fights and other adventures. The on screen chemistry between the two is very strong and you will find yourself laughing out loud more than once.

Inglorious Basterds is the new movie from Quentin Tarantino. It stars Brad Pitt and is released in the UK on the 21st August 2009. It currently has a star rating of 8.3 on the Internet Movie Database.
The movie tells the story of a group of American-Jewish soldiers known as “The Basterds”; the group is particularly brutal and spreads fear throughout the Third Reich as they gain a horrifying reputation for scalping and killing Nazis.
The Basterds eventually team up with a French-Jewish girl who runs a movie theatre in Paris which is frequented by members of the Nazi party. The Basterds decide to make the movie theatre their prime target in their quest to destroy members of the Nazi party.
